Programs and Opportunities

The Bidgee School runs curriculum based programs for students from Years K to 10 with a strong emphasis on the teaching of literacy, numeracy and personal development and social skills, embedded in each KLA.

To ensure that our curriculum caters appropriately and effectively for our students we develop individual education plans (IEPs) for each student.

These plans are created in partnership with parents/carers where priority goals for the student are set, planned for, implemented, assessed and reviewed.

Our Primary ED students access both The Bidgee School and their mainstream school daily.

At different times, students will have the opportunity to join in a variety of programs and experiences, including:

  • sport, including bike riding, swimming and gymnastics
  • NAIDOC celebrations
  • TAFE courses
  • Food Technology
  • Barista training
  • Careers Program including TAFE exposure and Work Experience
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award Program
  • Heaps Decent (expressing creativity through music and multimedia)
  • 8 Ways Program (assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and other students to learn through real life performances and Aboriginal Cultural workshops and activities)
  • Theatre Company visits
  • Recreational activities including sport, DnD, creative arts and photography
  • Finigan Distance Education (for secondary students, increases subject availability)
