On Thursday 30th April, a group of students from our school were lucky enough to attend the PARTY Programme.
The PARTY Programme stands for Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth.
The programme consisted of a series of talks from doctors and health professionals about the effect of drugs and alcohol and the related trauma caused from being under the influence. They visited the EmergencyDepartment at Wagga Base Hospital and Calvary Hospital where they saw a simulation of an incident and how the doctors and nurses dealt with the situation. They were also shown through the morgue, the autopsy room, the intensive care unit and lots more.
The day was very confronting but very informative, it was definately a massive eye-opener.
